A new post in a New Year......

It has been forever since my last post, so I am going to get you caught up on my life since the last time I wrote.

Eva bug is what her mommy calls her.

On July 18th of 2013, I became a grandmother for the first time and she is the most precious thing ever. Her name is Evailyne Patsy Jane Lamb, she is about 7 months old in this picture. Me and her pap-paw call her Eva for short.

I have completed my Bachelor's degree, I had graduated in December. I now have my degree in Human Services and Counseling. I was so scared for this to happen but when it was all over I was very proud of myself for doing this. It took really hard work and dedication to complete this stage in my life, if I had thought back about five or six years ago I would have to say that I would have never seen myself here.

As of January of this year 2014, I am now onto another task.... I am in the Master's program getting a degree in Counseling and Human Development with the same college, Lindsey Wilson College.

Hello Again

Well I finished my husbands socks a few months back. Sorry for not posted the end results but they fit him really well and he likes them and I guess that's all that matters, right.

School has been going well. I am in my second Practicum now, I am working at the Richmond Senior Citizen Center. I am really enjoying myself. Heather and April are great, I couldn't have asked for the two nicest people to work along side. They have helped and explained everything to me and not only that they are patient with me. That is always a plus with me when meeting new people.

I also work at the Richmond Child Day Care center, that is a challenge in it self. I work in the nursery so I am working with little bitty ones aging from 6 weeks to 18 months. There are some days when it's a challenge but isn't that what everyday supposed to be like anyways. That's part of life in it self.

A new knitting project...

I am working on a pair of socks for my husband.
I am at the toe decease on sock one. I am working these on size 3mm DPN's (double pointed needles). The yarn that I am using is Wool-Ease Slate Heather 4 ply. I had this yarn in my stash for a while so I don't know   where it came from or even if it still can be purchased.

My husband wears size 11.
So as I was knitting, it seems that the sock looks extra long but when Billy tried it on it fit to a T. So now for the decrease of  the toe. Then I can start on sock number two.
This is a pattern that I got off Ravelry, the actual pattern came from Man's Hunting Socks by Caryn Leighton.  http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/mens-hunting-socks

I was on Facebook yesterday and I saw this from Knit and Crochet Now!
I thought that would a great idea. I actually have one of these in my yard sale that I have been having, looks like that I am not going to sell it now. NOW I just have to start saving toilet paper and paper towel rolls so I can wrap my yarn on them.

5th Book of the summer..

Well I decided to read "The Ballad of Ballard and Sandrine", it hasn't been that bad of a book so far. There are only 93 or 94 pages in it all together. I am on page 64 I believe so one more day and I will be done with it.
